Underground waste system

Otto’s Underground Waste Systems (UWS) have been developed not only to tackle the aesthetic problems surrounding litter bins, but also the need to reduce waste collection costs and improve waste streams segregation.

The large underground containers reduce the amount of discarded waste lying around a full litter bin, and as underground temperatures tend to be lower than those in surface containers, odour levels are reduced. A UWS can be collected in about two minutes by a vehicle with a single operator.The collection vehicle with crane and receiving hopper stops by the UWS.

The driver dismounts with a remote control and guides the crane to the hooks on the UWS. The UWS is An established independent supplier of cleaning materials and disposables, GPP Hygiene has its own brand called Bowcare.

Thirty years experience in the trade has led to the launch of a new service on the company’s website www.gpphygiene.co.uk.

Clicking on Bowcare Extra gives access to over 25,000 stock lines that can be delivered throughout the UK. Products include facilities management equipment, site maintenance, signs, storage solutions, food safety and PPE. positioned over the vehicle before releasing its contents. While the UWS is being removed a counter-balanced baseplate or mechanical folding floor rises to fill the hole.

It is possible to use standard 4- wheel bins, located on a hydraulic platform which rises to surface level and can then be collected by standard 4-wheel bin lifts.
